Welcome to May

Well, lots of changes around here lately! In February I sold Kasey to Lorna Phillips and they are doing very well together except for a couple of unexpected partings while riding bareback. I was so glad to find him a home because it's not everyone that appreciates that hot cob personality, though if you do, it's tons of fun. Watch for a new one-page site for Lorna's dog grooming spa, It's A Dog's Life.

Thus far I have been half-leasing a TB at the barn named Lester, and we brought Riley in from winter pasture a couple of days ago so I'm going to start riding him. We are aiming for the Western Canadian Breeders show which is in July and is being held in Moose Jaw this year. This may be our only chance to hit this show, so I figure we might as well make a go of it.

I also booked a trip for June, the American Horse Publications conference in Saratoga. Woo hoo! There is the conference on the Friday/Saturday, and then a Gabrielle Boiselle photo seminar on Sunday and Monday.

In the middle of writing the above paragraph, the Canada Post guy rang the doorbell. My boots are here!! At only a few years from 30, I've ordered my first pair of "REAL" English boots, a pair of Ariat Challenge Zip field boots. I picked Ariats because I knew what foot size I would be, and I've been pretty happy with the ropers I got in Albuquerque last fall. You know what I'm going to be wearing around the house all day :D
